Wrap-Up & End of Season Celebration
Good Morning Gators--
What a week it's been!!! Congratulations to all our swimmers and divers on all of their fantastic swims, dives and personal bests over the course of the last week---each of these kiddos has risen to the occasion and met the challenges presented to them and we couldn't be more proud to call them Gators!!!
As Coach Abby shared, we finished second to Madeira in the swim portion of Champs and I am told we won the Silver Division* for Dive. (Note--there are 14 teams in the PPSL and they are divided into 3 groups each year based off how each team finished at Champs the previous year. The top 1/3 of teams are the Gold Division, the middle 1/3 are the Silver Division, and the bottom 1/3 are the Bronze Division--they are divided up this way for both swim and dive. For the 2026 Season, we were in the Gold Division for swim and the Silver Division for dive. The division you are in does not impact your regular season schedule--it is simply a grouping used to breakdown Champs results). I will share more info on the dive results once it is final/posted.
After all our hard work this season we have a great deal to celebrate! We will have our Swim & Dive Team End of Season Party this coming Thursday, the 23rd, at the pool from 5:30-7:30. We will eat about 6:00 with awards to follow. Looking forward to seeing you there. There is a link to the SUG at the end of this email--please make sure to RSVP so we know how many people to expect for awards and pizza.
At this time, I just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our parents and coaches...
To the parents--thank you for all of the running your kids to and from practices, for dedicating your Thursday nights to swim meets and for volunteering your time to help us run fun-filled meets---for setting up, tearing down, judging, DJing (Corey B!), running computers, timing, tracking down rogue swimmers and for being our biggest cheerleaders. You are the best!
And to the coaches--thank you for showing up each day and getting in on chilly mornings, for hauling out the flags, for building up the kids with confidence and feedback for improvement, for being role models, jungle gyms and playmates on Friday mornings and for dedicating your summer to making this program possible. We are so lucky to have you!!
And to all of you---thank you for helping all of our swimmers and families make friends and great memories all summer long! This is exactly what summer is supposed to be and I LOVE spending my first 6 weeks of summer poolside with all of you.
Lastly, after serving as our Swim & Dive Board Rep for the last 5 years, I will be wrapping up my time in this role at the end of the calendar year. This decision comes after careful thought for both my family and the program. I think what we have done these last 5 years is AMAZING and I am so proud of what we have built together. At this time I cannot say for sure who will fill this role in 2027, but we do have two parents who have expressed interest and I know that either of them will do a wonderful job. My girls plan to continue swimming and diving for the Gators next summer and I will be around and available to assist/train the person who backfills me to help ensure a smooth transition and another great season. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to work with all of you and to make so many memories together (the "pool breaks" at the Kenwood meet this year went straight to the top of my favorite gator memories). Thank you for being part of our summer swim and dive program and I look forward to seeing you all back for the 2027 season.
Don't forget to RSVP for the End of Season Party...
